PREVIOUSLY: According to scanner traffic, the Columbus Police Department is looking for Jerry Lee Darnell, black male, light skin, 5’6, 160 pounds, DOB 3/12/69, driving a Maroon Mountaineer. He is believed to be armed and dangerous. He was last seen leaving William Roberts Apartments and thought to be heading to Hwy. 373 where he has friends. He is wearing a white shirt and dark pants.
The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office is assisting with the search.
Darnell is believed to be connected to a shooting earlier at Williams Roberts Apartments where an unidentified person was taken to the emergency room at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle with a gunshot wound in a private vehicle.
