The Columbus Police Department is investigating a burglary of a dwelling and a grand larceny case.
Officers were dispatched to 206 Alexandra Way, Apt. A, Tuesday around 8:40 p.m. Kenneth McFarland reported he had left his home about 5:30 p.m. and when he returned, discovered his home had been burglarized. He said he was missing a laptop computer and his checkbook. McFarland, who opposed Leroy Brooks in the 2011 race for District 5 county supervisor, was attending the Columbus Municipal School District’s superintendent interview when he his home allegedly was burglarized.
In another matter, Thomas Doty, of 532 Island Road, Tuesday reported copper wire, valued at $2,000, missing from his property.
