Sunday afternoon, Columbus Police officers were dispatched to 98 13th Ave. N. after Shirley Odom called and said her son, Danny Scott Underwood, 46, of 13441 Highway 12 East in Caledonia, was walking down the street, cursing at people.
When officers arrived, Underwood exited the house and became confrontational, cursing and threatening them, CPD Public Information Officer Glenda Buckhalter said.
When they attempted to handcuff him, he refused to place his hands behind his back, stating he wasn’t going to jail, then he put his finger in an officer’s face and continued to be combative, she said.
