Sarah Fowler has joined the Starkville bureau of The Commercial Dispatch, where she will serve the community as a reporter and photographer.
Fowler, a native of Columbus, worked for The Columbus Packet more than two years, most recently as associate editor. Her coverage areas included crime and politics.
She began her career at WCBI-TV in Columbus, where she worked as a photojournalist.
Fowler joins Starkville bureau reporter Micah Green, who joined The Dispatch in May. The two will cover Starkville and Oktibbeha County news.
Green, who grew up in Laurel, is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in communications from Mississippi State University. Prior to his arrival at the Dispatch, he worked as news editor for MSU’s student newspaper, The Reflector.
Dispatch Operations Manager Peter Imes noted “Micah and Sarah show an enthusiasm for digging into stories. That passion for hunting down the details is not something that can be taught, and I’m happy both are with us.
Both will primarily work out of the Starkville office, but they will also be contributing to the Dispatch’s Columbus operations.
