A Sunday morning shooting in west Lowndes County is still under investigation by the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office. Shots were fired Sunday morning at around 2:40 a.m. at the Sin City Club, located at 341 Penn Station Road in Crawford. Although four people were sent to hospitals with minor gun shot wounds and a fifth person was treated for undisclosed minor injuries, LCSO Chief Deputy Marc Miley said little other information is known about the shooting.
“We received a call around 2:40 a.m. stating shots had been fired both inside and outside of the club and that it was very chaotic inside and that people were running in every direction” Miley said. “Upon arrival, we were told four people had gone by private vehicles to Noxubee County Hospital — three of them allegedly had gunshot wounds. We received a report that was later verified that one person had been sent to Oktibbeha County Hospital with a gunshot wound. All of the injured suffered minor injuries only.”
Miley said deputies attempted to question the club’s manager, Napoleon Brooks, about the incident but Brooks denied the shooting happened indoors.
“Brooks was told to stay for questioning but he went inside the club, locked it up and fled the scene,” Miley said. Brooks is not a suspect in the shooting but he will be questioned by the LCSO, Miley said.
“We really don’t know what happened at the club,” Miley said. “No one really wants to talk about it. We did find a vehicle full of bullet holes in the parking lot.”
The incident is still under investigation by the LCSO.
