Mississippi State University’s Music Maker Productions announced Grammy-winning alternative rock band FUN. will perform Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. at the Humphrey Coliseum.
Reserved tickets may be purchased through msuconcerts.com and the Center for Student Activities Office at the Colvard Student Union. Prices vary from $30-40 per ticket. Tickets go on sale Friday.
New York-based FUN. won the Best New Artist and Song of the Year awards at this year’s Grammy Awards ceremony. The band was also nominated for Record of the Year, Best Pop Duo or Group Performance, Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album.
FUN. gained notoriety with singles “We Are Young,” “Some Nights” and “Carry On.” Its album “Some Nights” went platinum in Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States, while also achieving gold certification in Sweden. It also peaked at No. 1 on the U.S. Alternative Albums and U.S. Rock Albums lists, and placed in the top 10 on the Australian Albums Chart, Canadian Albums Chart, Irish Albums Chart, New Zealand Albums Chart, Norwegian Albums Chart, U.K. Albums Chart and the U.S. Billboard 200.
