Applications for Starkville Community Theatre’s 2013 Mary Eleanor Anderson Scholarship are due April 5.
The winner will be announced May 1.
The endowed $1,000 scholarship was created in 2005 and first awarded in April 2007. It recognizes the late SCT charter member and former president who died December 2005.
“The scholarship honors Mary Eleanor Anderson’s many significant contributions to SCT’s origins, growth and continuing success. Previous Anderson Scholarship winners have had or continue to have splendid academic and theatre performances,” Alice Carol Caldwell, a scholarship committee member, said.
Applicants must be an Oktibbeha County resident and be entering college or already enrolled as an undergraduate. They must also have a college major in theatre performance, technical theatre or theatre education.
Scholarship forms are available at each Starkville and Oktibbeha County high school’s guidance counselor’s office and at the Starkville Public Library. Applications and recommendations should be sent to Paula Mabry, 206 Hiwassee Drive, Starkville.
Any inquiries should be made to Mabry at (662) 323-6852.
