Tea Party holding candidate forum Saturday

Dispatch Staff Report

The Starkville TEA Party will host a forum for mayoral and aldermen candidates 2 p.m. Saturday at Fellowship Baptist Church, located at 1491 Frye Road.

The candidates will discuss their platforms and address questions from event attendees.

A list of candidates expected at the event was not readily available at press time.

The forum is open to the public, and refreshments will be served.

For more information, email or call (662) 546-0675.

Local candidates are also preparing for two non-partisan forums prior to May 7's primary.

First, many aldermen candidates will discuss their platforms and ideologies Monday during a Greater Starkville Development Partnership forum. One day later, mayoral candidates will debate local issues in a Starkville High School-organized event.

Both events are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Greensboro Center on their respective days.
