Bill Wilkerson, vice president of sales for Environmental Solutions Group (ESG), was inducted into the Environmental Industry Associations’ (EIA) Hall of Fame at a national awards ceremony in New Orleans.
EIA is the nonprofit trade association that represents for-profit companies in the waste and recycling service and equipment industry throughout the United States. The EIA Hall of Fame recognizes industry leaders who over the course of more than 20 years have made significant contributions to the industry and their community.
ESG combines three industry-leading companies within Dover Corporation’s Industrial Products Group — Heil Environmental, Marathon Equipment Company and Bayne Premium Lift Systems — to create a premier, fully integrated equipment group serving the waste management industry. Wilkerson, based in Columbus, is formally affiliated with Marathon and Bayne.
His career in the industry spans 23 years, and he was a pivotal contributor toward the development of the waste and recycling industry’s first solar compactor. He is a leading expert in the application and calculation of return on investment of compactors and balers. He was also instrumental in the initial sale of Marathon to Dover Corporation and in the merger that created ESG in 2010.
Wilkerson is dedicated to his community as well, serving as a member of both the Mississippi State University “M Club” Lettermen’s Association and local athletic charity, “Kids With Character.”
