The Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers’ Association recognized Lt. Shannon Williams of the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office as this year’s Officer of the Year. Lt. Williams has served in law enforcement for 18 years and was instrumental in saving a fellow officer’s life during an encounter with an armed mental subject. Lt. Williams was recognized for his unselfish dedication and service to the citizens of Mississippi and the Law Enforcement Profession.
