Aberdeen school, parents, community members to team up for Wed. parent workshop

Dispatch Staff Report

Parents, school board members, members of the Parent-Teacher Association, local business owners, city officials and local ministers are invited to team up with Aberdeen Elementary School to “prepare students for the next level,” said officials with the Aberdeen School District.

Noting the betterment of children and ensuring a successful future for the children requires everyone working together, school officials announced a parent workshop, to be held at 9 a.m. Friday at Aberdeen Elementary School; the workshop will be featured on “Making The Grade,” a weekly segment on WCBI-TV.

Following the workshop, students and staff will deliver Valentine’s Day cards, for troops overseas, to the local National Guard unit and, for elderly patients, to the Aberdeen Care Center.

Refreshments will be served during the parent workshop and vocalist Angela Sherman will sing an opening solo.
