Students in the Columbus Municipal School District will be able to add a little color to their uniform choice this year.
The school board voted Tuesday to allow students to wear purple, gold, and their school spirit shirts in addition to their white and blue polo shirts. The purple and gold shirts must also be polo shirts. Students are still required to wear khaki pants, shorts or skirts.
In an overwhelming response, 97 percent of parents said they were in favor of the change.
The additional uniform choice will take effect immediately. A revised uniform policy can be found on the district’s website, columbuscityschools.org.
