A shooting in a residential neighborhood in Columbus on Wednesday night sent one man to the hospital and sparked a searched for the shooter.
A 911 call about shots being fired and a victim laying on the ground led authorities to Burgundy Drive in the Dean Acres subdivision about 10:40 p.m. Wednesday.
Emergency responders and law enforcement responded to the scene and several police officers canvased the area for the shooter. Witnesses on scene said the shooter fired a weapon from a maroon Grand Marquis.
According to scanner traffic, the victim was transported by ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle with three gunshot wounds to his left leg.
The condition of the victim is unknown. The incident remains under investigation.
