The following arrests were reported by the Lowndes County Sheriff's Department and the Columbus Police Department:
Marquitta Ashanti Brooks, 23, of 1023 15th St. S., was arrested at her residence by CPD Sept. 5 and charged with two counts of fraudulent use of an ID and felony false pretense. Bond is set at $10,000. Her court date has been scheduled for Nov. 7.
James Lamar Hamilton, 42, of Blue Springs was arrested in New Albany by CPD Sept. 5 and charged with embezzlement under contract. Bond is set at $5,000. His court date has been scheduled for Nov. 7.
Kimberly Latrece Mayberry, 34, of Brooksville was arrested in Noxubee by MDOC Sept. 6 and charged with violation of probation.
Cedric Lamont Miller, 31, of 528 Wick Road, was arrested at 1207B Highway 45 N., by MDOC Sept. 6 and charged with violation of probation.
Ricky Thomas Palmer Sr., 32, of 3716 Highway 373, was arrested at Caledonia High School by the Caledonia Town Marshall Sept. 6 and charged with sex offender entering school property and violation of probation. His court date has been scheduled for Sept. 24.
Brittany Nicole Ponds, 26, of Ethelsville, Ala., was arrested in Carrollton, Ala., by MDOC Sept. 6 and charged with violation of probation.
Joseph Patrick Thornton, 24, of Southaven, was arrested in Memphis, Tenn., by LCSO Sept. 3 and charged with the abuse, neglect or exploitation of a vulnerable adult. Bond is set at $7,500. His court date has been scheduled for Feb. 10, 2014.
Lindsay Charles Workman, 70, of Glendale, Utah, was arrested in Tunica by LCSO Sept. 6 and charged with sexual battery. Bond is set at $20,000.
