Three family members were arrested earlier this week after narcotics agents allegedly discovered more than a pound of marijuana in their possession.
Jamie Williams, 32, Michael Williams, 32, and Ramone Williams, 39, were arrested Tuesday after agents with Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit conducted a search warrant of their home at 378 Quince St., and discovered marijuana, three firearms, more than $1,000 in cash and drug paraphernalia used to package and sell the illegal substance.
Agents also discovered 10 pit bulls they believe to be neglected. The dogs were seized by animal control.
All three men were charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Jamie Williams and Ramone Williams are brothers. Michael Williams is their cousin. Michael Williams was on probation with the Mississippi Department of Corrections at the time of his arrest.
They are still in the custody of the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center awaiting bond.
