- Instead of the usual afternoon paper, The Dispatch will put out a morning edition on Labor Day. Dispatch offices will be closed Monday for the holiday, but any delivery problems may be reported to the circulation department from 6-10 a.m.
- Area banks, including BancorpSouth, AmSouth, Regions, Trustmark, Cadence, BankFirst and Citizens National, also will be closed Monday.
- Columbus Municipal and Lowndes County school”s district offices and the Lowndes-Columbus Public Library will be shut down for the day, along with the Columbus-Lowndes Development Link.
- All county and city government offices, including U.S. Postal Services offices, will also be closed.
- Both the Columbus Light & Water and 4-County Electric Power Association offices will be closed for the holiday.
- Golden Triangle Waste Services will maintain regular trash pick-ups on Monday, and the offices will be open.
- All businesses and offices will resume regular hours and services Tuesday.
