CPD reminds residents to stay safe over weekend

Dispatch Staff Report

The Columbus Police Department reminded residents to keep safety in mind over the Labor Day weekend with the following precautions:

  • Don''t drink and drive, and don''t allow friends to do so either.

  • If you are planning on being on the road over the long weekend, plan enough time for the trip and don''t speed; watch out for careless and aggressive drivers; be well rested; et your vehicle checked out before you get on the road; and wear your seat belt.

  • If remaining in town, the CPD advises to avoid taking unnecessary risks when enjoying the outdoors. Use caution when boating, swimming, riding four-wheelers, and using all-terrain vehicles.
