SOUTHAVEN — The city of Southaven has endorsed plans by an outlet mall developer to seek state tax incentives for the project.
The Outlet Shops of the Mid-South, which would be located in Southaven, is a planned $165 million development of shops, hotels and restaurants. Developers tell The Commercial Appeal that work will be done in three phases.
The developer, DeSoto Mid-South Tourism Project LLC, will submit the application for the state’s sales tax rebate program to the Mississippi Development Authority.
Phase One includes the 324,000-square-foot outlet mall and out parcels of a hotel and two restaurants to be built on the 33-acre site off Interstate 55. Phase Two includes three restaurants and another hotel to be built on out parcels on the mall site. Phase Three is being planned.
