Runners and walkers may be mistaken for some of Santa’s helpers at the Reindeer Run being hosted by the Mississippi University for Women’s Department of Health and Kinesiology Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
The Reindeer Run will begin in front of Fant Memorial Library and participants are asked to wear their brightest neon colors, lights and costumes. Glow-in-the-dark necklaces will be provided by the H&K department.
The run will take place on the same route as the Owl Run. It will be one mile and participants can either walk or run it. The admission fee is a nonperishable item and all items will be donated to local food banks for the holiday season.
Gift certificates, totaling $10 apiece, will be awarded to the first male to complete the race, the first female to complete the race and the person with the best costume.
