Ed Blakeslee, a retired utility company executive and a member of the State College Board, will speak at Mississippi University for Women’s December graduation.
About 190 students are expected to participate at the Dec. 13 graduation at 2 p.m. in Rent Auditorium on the MUW campus in Columbus.
Blakeslee was appointed to the College Board by Gov. Haley Barbour in May of 2004. His term will expire in May 2015.
Blakeslee worked for Mississippi Power Company, and retired from the company as vice president.
Blakeslee currently serves as chairman of the Wolf River Conservation Society.
He is a registered professional engineer and a certified public accountant.
Blakeslee received a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Mississippi State University and completed accounting courses from the University of Southern Mississippi.
