COLUMBUS — Local citizens with questions regarding the Affordable Healthcare Act are encouraged to attend a question and answer seminar at the Municipal Complex Thursday night.
The seminar, which is being presented by Magnolia Health, will give locals a chance to ask questions about the ACA as well as sign up on the spot.
Glenda Buckhalter, Community Outreach Coordinator, said Thursday night’s seminar is a great opportunity for those who still have lingering questions about the ACA to get more information.
“I think it’s important, especially for people who don’t know about it, to find out what benefits will be available to them,” she said.
For those who sign up under the ACA, Magnolia is the company who will be handling their claims, Buckhalter said.
“Magnolia is in our area so when they sign for the Affordable Healthcare Act, they will have to deal with Magnolia,” she said.
This will be Magnolia’s second seminar in the Columbus area. The first meeting was held at the Trotter Convention Center and was poorly attended. Buckhalter said Thursday’s event is an opportunity for those who did not get to attend the first meeting.
“They will be signing people up on the spot so any questions that they didn’t get answered the first go around, maybe this time they have worked out those kinks and the citizens can get the information they need to proceed in this process.”
The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the courtroom in the Municipal Complex.
