The following arrests were reported by the Lowndes County Sheriff's Department and the Columbus Police Department: 

 

 

 

  • Jarvis Louis Alexander, 21. of 2203 Hughes Lane, was arrested Jan. 7 at Motel 6, 1203 Highway 45 N., by CPD and charged with domestic violence-aggravated assault by strangulation. He was released the next day on $2,500 bond. His court date is scheduled for March 20. 

     

  • Tanessa Clanee Murphy, 26, of 1624 Bell Ave., was arrested Jan. 7 by CPD and charged with domestic violence-aggravated assault by strangulation. She was released the next day on $1,500 bond. Her court date is scheduled for March 20. 

     

  • Keith Gardner, 50, of 620 Fifth St. N., Apt. B, was arrested Jan. 8 at the MDOC office and charged with violation of probation. 

     

  • Taboris Montrell Harris, 33, of 1511 13th Ave. N., was arrested Jan. 8 at the MDOC office and charged with violation of probation. 

     

  • Brandon Charles Hughes, 26, of Sulligent, Ala., was arrested Jan. 5 at 139 Cal Vernon Road by LCSO and charged with burglary-breaking and entering a dwelling and violation of parole. He is on parole from a possession of methamphetamine conviction. 

     

  • Laforest Moore, 50, of 150 Sunny Lane, was arrested Jan. 8 by LCSO and charged with failure to register as a sex offender with a new address. Bond is $5,000. His court date is scheduled for May 12. 

     

  • Benjamin Davis Ray, 22, of 1006 Ninth St. N., was arrested Jan. 7 at the MDOC office and charged with violation of probation. 

     

  • Hunter Stanley Sims, 22, of 1196 Mac Davis Road, was arrested Jan. 7 at the MDOC office and charged with violation of probation.
