A tip to Crime Stoppers has landed a Columbus man in jail.
Lackendrick Andrew Bankhead, 29, of 15 Pandora Drive in Columbus, was arrested Tuesday by the Columbus Police Department on one count of embezzlement.
The arrest stems from a tip reported to Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers in which an associate from Office Depot was stealing laptops from the store.
An investigator notified Office Depot of the Crime Stopper's tip. An investigation was opened and Bankhead was arrested at Office Depot, located at 1480 Old Aberdeen Road.
Other arrests
The following other felony arrests and information were reported by the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office and CPD:
Derrick Demar Bankhead, 32, of 216 Third St. N. in Columbus, was arrested Wednesday by the CPD on counts of kidnapping, burglary of a dwelling and malicious mischief.
Bankhead was arrested on circuit court warrants from a June 22 arrest for felony malicious mischief.
The incident occurred at 107 Poplar St., the home of Bankhead's ex-girlfriend, where he allegedly broke out all the windows of her car and forcibly removed her from the home.
David Albert Cook, 34, of 40204 Rye Bottom Road in Hamilton, was transported to Lowndes County by extradition service Sunday to face counts of aggravated assault and violation of probation.
Larry Gordon Parker, 40, of 625 31st Ave. N. C-31 in Columbus, was arrested Tuesday by the CPD on one count of domestic violence-aggravated assault.
Ryan Heath Bush, 21, of 4264 New Hope Road in Columbus, was arrested Wednesday by the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office on one count of DUI-third offense.
Susan Elizabeth Williams, 27, of 1539 N. Lake Dr. in Jackson, was arrested Wednesday by LCSO on one count of possession of precursors.
Freddie Louis Williams Jr., 25, of 106 Maderia Drive in Columbus, was arrested Wednesday by the Mississippi Department of Corrections for violation of probation.
Anthony Darnell McClinton, 17, of 615 14th St. N. in Columbus, was arrested Thursday by CPD on one count of possession of cocaine.
Kristle Diona Beard, 22, of 4428 New Hope Road in Columbus, was arrested Thursday by CPD on counts of possession of a controlled substance and DUI.
