GULFPORT — Gulfport police and federal drug agents say they seized high-grade marijuana and spice believed to be sold from Martin’s Grocery.
The Sun Herald reports police also arrested 37-year-old Johnson Tran, a felon on probation for a federal drug-distribution conviction, in a raid at the grocery store late Tuesday afternoon.
Police Chief Leonard Papania said the business is owned by Tran Enterprises and Tran was wanted on two arrest warrants: a state charge of sale of marijuana and a federal probation warrant.
Papania said police had been receiving complaints that drugs were being sold from the store.
Officials said they seized 32 pounds of marijuana and spice and also seized a gun.
It was unclear whether Tran has an attorney.
