The Starkville Police Department is investigating multiple reports of package thefts from local residences as thieves are allegedly taking parcels from front porches.
Residents should watch for suspicious vehicles patrolling neighborhoods, gathering information on the area and looking for easy targets, SPD stated in a release. Track packages ahead of time so you will know when they are expected to arrive. If you cannot be at home when a parcel should arrive, ask a neighbor to watch for deliveries.
If you suspect a package was stolen from your residence, call the police department and file a report.
SPD also suggests contacting the company from which you made the purchase to report the theft and file a claim.
If anyone has any information as to those responsible for these thefts, contact SPD at (662) 323-4131.
