BROOKHAVEN — The teen driver who walked away from an accident that killed two Brookhaven High School football players now faces two counts of vehicular homicide.
The Clarion-Ledger reports 18-year-old Chas Acy was driving a Hummer when he collided head-on with a Ford F-150 in which 18-year-olds Shaquan Richardson and Javonta Dickey were in.
Richardson and Dickey, seniors at Brookhaven, had just left a softball game they were attending for extra class credit when Tuesday’s accident occurred. Police Chief Bobby Bell says investigators were on the scene Wednesday trying to reconstruct what happened.
Acy is in the Lincoln County Jail facing two counts of DUI homicide and one count each of suspended license (second offense) and no proof of insurance. It was unknown whether he had an attorney.
