IRS: More than 100 area residents due refunds

The Internal Revenue Service reported 951 Mississippi tax refunds, totaling $781,314, are undeliverable, including refunds to more than 100 local residents; the average Mississippi refund is $822.


In Lowndes County, 27 residents have undeliverable refunds, totaling $21,886; the average refund amount is $811.


In Columbus, Abrahm Leon Aguirre, Larean Brandon, Barbara A. Brown, Polly R. Browning, Johnnie L. Carr, Lisa Daniel, Jermy D. Davis, James D. and Jo Ann R. Graham, Curlee Hamilton, Matthew and Sharlotte Manley, Sara L. Murphey, David and Carmen Pate, Jermaine Phinizee, Demarco B. Porter, Joshua P. Reeves, Paul D. Reinitz, Billie L. and William H. Russell, Cutitious Saul, Sylvester and Nina Shows, Carla A. Shumpert, Tierra C. Stephenson, Christie Renee Stokes, Johnson Swoope, Brian P. and Kenna J. Walsh, and Patricia White have undeliverable refunds.


In Crawford, Sellers Talley and Tommy J. William have undeliverable refunds.


In Aberdeen, Fannie Clay and Mary K. Whitworth are due undeliverable refunds.


In Amory, Byron Coker has an undeliverable refund.


In Smithville, Maria and R. Rios Pachecano Gomez are due refunds.


In Macon, Leken Farmer and Dora S. Richardson are due refunds, as is Betty A. Robertson in Shuqualak.


In Clay County, West Point resident Rodney D. Waller is due a refund.


In Oktibbeha County, 21 residents have undeliverable refunds, totaling $17,213; the average refund is $820.


In Oktibbeha County, Sara K. Lamb, Keyon Brook, Simon T. Casey, Paul J. Chandler, Artis L. and Patricia Davis, Sandra H. Edmonds, John E.V. Fontaine, Alexandra Hagler Patrick L. Jamison, Ashley D. Jones and Sara C. Jurney are due refunds.


The IRS also reported 1,571 tax refunds, totaling $1,854,628, are undeliverable in Alabama; the average undeliverable refund in Alabama is $1,183.


In Lamar County, William M. and Wanda G. Price, of Sulligent, and Cheryl L. Lipa, of Vernon, are due undeliverable refunds.


In Pickens County, Leslie B. Garner and Carl Abramo, of Gordo, and Mary S. Dean, of Reform, are due refunds.


If a refund check is returned to the IRS as undeliverable, taxpayers can update their addresses on IRS.gov.


Taxpayers can check the status of their refunds and get information on resolving delivery problems from the IRS Web site.


Additionally, taxpayers can call 1-800-829-1954 to get their refunds.
