The most recent Oktibbeha County Circuit Court session wrapped up earlier this month and was highlighted by the capital murder trial of former Mississippi State University student Bobby Batiste, but a number of other individuals also were sentenced by judges Jim Kitchens and Lee Howard.
During the first week of court, Judge Lee Howard handled all the sentencings while Judge Kitchens handled the Batiste trial.
Howard sentenced Roydreakis Williams to three years probation for felony false pretense.
Troy Taylor was sentenced to 10 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections system for identity theft. He also must pay a $1,000 fine and $730.91 in restitution.
Benjamin L. Totty lost an appeal from Starkville Municipal Court for DUI, first offense, and was ordered to pay a $500 fine and court costs.
Eugene Cox lost an appeal from Starkville Municipal Court for DUI, first offense, and was ordered to pay a $500 fine and court costs. He also lost an appeal for driving the wrong way down a one-way street and was ordered to pay a $60 fine plus court costs.
Josh Wiltshire lost an appeal of a DUI, first offense from Municipal Court and was ordered to pay a $300 fine plus court costs.
Benjamin Stevens lost an appeal of DUI, first offense from Municipal Court and was ordered to pay a $500 fine plus court costs.
Shenita Gillespie was sentenced to five years of supervised probation, a $1,000 fine and must pay $884.95 in restitution for felony shoplifting.
Clovis Pruett III was sentenced to 22 years in the MDOC system, must pay a $5,000 fine and will face five years of post-release supervision for possession of methamphetamine precursors
Jeremy Randle was sentenced to a total of 11 years in the MDOC system on two counts of auto burglary and one count of burglary of an occupied dwelling. He also must pay a total of $1,500 in fines, $58 in restitution, and faces five years of post-release supervision.
Thomas Gibson was sentenced to one year in the MDOC system, a $500 fine and four years of post-release supervision for felony malicious mischief.
Timothy Albert was sentenced to one year of intensive supervision/house arrest for DUI, third offense, and a $2,000 fine. If he fails the program, he must serve five years in the MDOC system. If he completes the program, he faces four years of supervised probation.
Christopher Evans received five years of non-ajudicated probation and a $500 fine for burglary of a dwelling.
Javian Watt received five years of non-ajudicated probation and a $500 fine for burglary of a dwelling.
During the second week of Circuit Court, Judge Howard and Kitchens split the docket.
Howard sentenced Keary Jones to eight years in the MDOC system plus a $500 fine for burglary of an occupied dwelling.
Chauntrez Jenkins was sentenced by Howard to a total of 28 years in the MDOC system for four counts of burglary of a dwelling, one count of attempted burglary of a dwelling, one count of robbery and one count of armed robbery. Jenkins also faces five years of post-release supervision.
Brother Dontavious Hatchett and Rontavious Hatchett each received five years of probation and $500 fines for one count each of burglary of a dwelling.
Chad Loven Ledet received 18 months of probation and a $500 fine for possession of a weapon on a school campus.
Howard sentenced Stephen K. Hughes to 16 years in the MDOC system and a $5,000 fine for possession of meth precursors.
Kitchens sentenced Vernon Harris to a combined six years in the MDOC system and eight years of post-release supervision, plus a combined $400 in fines and $3,236 in restitution for two counts of burglary of a building. He also faces four years of post-release supervision.
Kitchens sentenced Omartra K. McGee to 15 years in the MDOC system, a $5,000 fine and five years of post-release supervision for the sale of cocaine.
John Callon must complete a one-year intensive supervision/house arrest program for DUI, third offense, plus a $2,000 fine. If he fails, he must serve five years in the MDOC system. If he completes it successfully, he faces four years of probation.
Howard sentenced Jamario Brownlee to 12 years in the MDOC system, a $2,000 fine and five years of post-release supervision for possession of marijuana more than 30 grams with intent to distribute.
Ciara Kennedy received five years of probation, a $500 fine and was ordered to pay $487 in restitution for identity theft.
Howard sentenced Ontarion Hunter to a combined 30 years in the MDOC system on two counts of the sale of cocaine. He also must pay a combined $10,000 in fines.
Howard sentenced Justin Yhonquea to a combined 14 years in the MDOC system on three counts of burglary of an automobile. He also was ordered to pay a combined $1,500 in fines and $1,755 in restitution.
Howard sentenced Antonio Gibbs to 12 years in the MDOC system for possession of more than 30 grams of marijuana with intent to distribute. He also faces five years of post-release supervision.
Bryan Murnell must pass a one-year intensive supervision/house arrest program for possession of methamphetamine. If he fails the program, he faces five years in the MDOC system. If he passes, he faces five years of probation. He also was ordered to pay a $500 fine.
Kitchens sentenced Steven Eric Dison, a habitual offender, to 25 years in the MDOC system with no possibility of early release, plus a $10,000 fine, for burglary of a dwelling.
Howard sentenced Carl Baptist Jr. to a combined 19 years in the MDOC system for one count of robbery and one count of armed robbery. He also faces five years of post-release supervision.
Howard sentenced Jarvis Allen to two years in the MDOC system, a $2,000 fine and five years of post-release supervision for possession of benzylpiperazine.
Anthony Bell must complete one year in the intensive supervision/house arrest program for DUI, third offense. If he fails, he must serve five years in the MDOC system. If he passes, he faces four years of probation. He also was ordered to pay a $2,000 fine.
Kitchens sentenced Tyler Collins to three years in the MDOC system, a $250 fine and ordered him to pay $250 in restitution for sale of marijuana less than 30 grams.
Kitchens sentenced Chris Walker to three years in the MDOC system, a $250 fine and ordered him to pay $250 in restitution for sale of marijuana less than 30 grams.
Kitchens sentenced Ashley Garriga to five years in the MDOC system for the sale of marijuana more than 30 grams. He also was ordered to pay a $5,000 fine and faces five years of post-release supervision.
Howard sentenced Kelvin Pointer to a combined five years in the MDOC system on one count of possession of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) and one count of possession of marijuana between 30 and 250 grams. He also faces a combined $1,500 in fines and five years of post-release supervision.
Bridget Eaves received five years of probation for obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. She also must pay a $500 fine.
Howard sentenced Jefferson Clayborn to a combined 11 years for one count of robbery, one count of burglary of a dwelling and one count of grand larceny. He also faces a combined $1,500 in fines.
Brian Burrell received five years of probation and a $500 fine for grand larceny.
Howard sentenced Robert Evans to five years in the MDOC system for grand larceny. He also must pay a $500 fine, $677.53 in restitution, and faces five years of post-release supervision.
Kitchens sentenced David Mayne to three years in the MDOC system for sale of marijuana less than 30 grams. He also was ordered to pay a $250 fine and $250 in restitution.
Lucile Lucious must serve one year in the MDOC system and faces four years of post-release supervision for simple assault on emergency medical personnel.
Kitchens sentenced Nakeven Dancer to a combined seven years in the MDOC system on two counts of burglary. He also must pay a $200 fine, $5,527 in restitution, and faces five years of post-release supervision.
Howard sentenced Joshua Hendrix to five years in the MDOC system for robbery. He also was ordered to pay a $500 fine and faces five years of post-release supervision.
Howard sentenced Dennis Childress to four years in the MDOC system for aggravated assault. He also was ordered to pay a $500 fine and faces five years of post-release supervision.
