The Starkville Police Department Wednesday was still searching for two suspects involved in a shooting last month on North Montgomery Street.
The suspects, 29-year-old Kenyon Derrell Cannon, aka "Smoke," and 30-year-old Roderick D. Franklin, aka "Bam Bam," are considered armed and dangerous, according to police.
Officers were dispatched Oct. 30 at approximately 11:10 p.m. to North Montgomery Street to speak to an assault victim. The victim had been shot multiple times in the head and neck area while inside his home at 819 North Montgomery St., police said.
Starkville police have not identified the victim, but did confirm he left his home after the shooting and knocked on several neighbors'' doors for help before someone called 911.
When authorities arrived, the victim was transported first to Oktibbeha County Hospital, then to a hospital in Jackson for further treatment.
Aggravated assault warrants have been issued for Franklin and Cannon. The pair are half-brothers. Three family members were arrested earlier this month
James W. Cannon, 52, is the father of Franklin and Cannon, and was charged by Starkville police with obstruction of justice. Wallace C. Cannon, 30, who is the full brother of Kenyon Cannon and the half-brother of Franklin, also was charged with obstruction of justice. The pair knew the whereabouts of the suspects but failed to disclose that information, police said.
Shanquinna Renee Hollingshed, 25, is Franklin''s wife and was charged with possession of less than 30 grams of marijuana after police ran a search warrant on her home while looking for Franklin,
Franklin, of 200 Catherine St. No. 13B, is described as 6 feet, 2 inches and 170 pounds. Cannon, of 141 Pilkington Park Road, is 6 feet, 1 inch and 180 pounds.

Not to be one of those crazies who tracks sex offenders, but I'm curious as to why the fact that one of these suspects (Roderick Franklin) is a registered sex offender has not been publicized. Perhaps that knowledge would encourage folks to turn him in.

Wow, it also appears that this shooting happened right across from Sudduth Elementary.

The Franklin above is not the same Franklin that is a reg sex offender. Same name two different ppl.

MJ, you are incorrect. Same name, same age, same height, same weight, same alias, same face - anyone can check it out at www.familwatchdog.us.
Now since you apparently know the Franklin above, how about you turn him in?
