Did you know The Auto Spa is now on Bluecutt Road?
The business made the move from its former Highway 45 North location a little north about four months ago. Joshua Pitman, the owner, said the switch enabled The Auto Spa to focus more on offering customers a higher quality of detailing. They still offer straight forward washes, too.
What can they service? Cars, trucks, 18-wheelers, motorcycles, RVs, pop-up campers and more. The receptionist on Wednesday told The Dispatch that The Auto Spa can clean and detail “anything with wheels and an engine.” Also: boats. Not long ago, they detailed a golf cart.
They offer free Wi-Fi for customers, can come and get your vehicle during the day and return it cleaned, and they can come to you to clean your vehicles (three-vehicle minimum).
The business is located at 3506 Bluecutt Road — right beside The Boat Gallery. Renovations at the 2,450 square foot structure are ongoing, Pitman said. For example, he is in the process of pouring a concrete slab behind the business and installing surveillance cameras.
The business employs four full-time detailers and a receptionist.
The Auto Spa’s phone number is 662-328-9265.
Moving on.
The Hyatt Place just off Highway 45 North, beside Belk, is scheduled to open today. It had been under construction since 2010.
The hotel offers 99 rooms, free Wi-Fi, a full service bar (cocktails, wines, beer), Starbucks coffee and serves soups, salads, flatbread pizzas, hamburgers and appetizers 24/7, according to Tess Mason, director of sales. The hotel’s A.M. Kitchen Skillet is complimentary to all guests. There is 1,080 square feet of meeting space. To make reservations call 888-591-1234 or call the Columbus location at 662-370-1800.
The hotel employs roughly 40 people.
There are about 200 Hyatt Places in North America, according to the hotel’s corporate office.
Now, here is what some will consider a good Christmas and some will consider a not so good Christmas gift.
Masik Collegiate Fragrances is now offering an Ole Miss cologne for men and an Ole Miss perfume for women. The company’s website states it is a “signature scent exclusively created to capture the essence of Ole Miss.” The aroma, according to the website, is one of fresh mandarin and watery marine accords blend with aromatic herb and white cyclamen that creates “an inviting top note.” The aroma’s back drop of fir balsam and moss is “intense,” the website adds.
For $39.50 you can get 1.7 ounces of the stuff. Go to masik.com to check it out.
The company does not offer a Mississippi State cologne or perfume. There is an Alabama Crimson Tide aroma offering, though.
Lastly, speaking of Christmas gifts, this sentence appeared in the Washington Post recently: “UPS and FedEx expect to handle a record-breaking 900 million packages this month after the starter pistol of Black Friday — about three for every man, woman and child in America.”
