GULFPORT — Mississippi authorities say D’Juan Holloway, wanted in the shooting death of a Gulfport man, was arrested Monday after a gunfight with New Mexico law enforcement during a high-speed chase.
According to a release from the New Mexico Department of Safety, a state trooper found Holloway on Interstate 10 east of Lordsburg at 4:45 p.m.
Gulfport Police Chief Leonard Papania tells The Sun Herald Holloway was driving the Chevrolet Cobalt he’d stolen Sunday after the fatal shooting 19-year-old Raymond Howze III, of Gulfport, in the parking lot of a convenience store.
Police say Holloway is in stable condition in a Texas hospital.
It was unclear whether Holloway has an attorney.
