United Blood Services will host a two-day campus blood drive with Mississippi University for Women this week.
The drive will take place Monday and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day in the “W Room” of the Hogarth Student Union on MUW’s campus, according to a press release from USB.
Volunteer blood donors have to be at least 16 years old and 110 pounds. All donors must have a photo ID. Donors 22 and younger have additional height and weight requirements, and 16-year-old donors must have signed permission from a parent or guardian.
Donors will receive a long-sleeve Mardi Gras T-shirt as part of USB’s Mardi Gras celebration. Donors also receive a free cholesterol test.
United Blood Service provides blood to most of the hospitals in Northeast Mississippi and Northwest Alabama, including Baptist Memorial-Golden Triangle. One donation can help save up to three lives.
For more information on the drive, call Kimone Holtzman at 662-329-7352 or Caroline Pugh at 662-321-9988.
