Weyerhaeuser Company announces that David Phillips will succeed Kent Walker as vice president of Weyerhaeuser’s Columbus Cellulose Fibers mill. “Columbus-Lowndes County will always be a special place to me and my family,” stated Walker. “I appreciate the support and the partnership that I have been blessed to be a part of for the past 15 years. “Both Kent and David are outstanding leaders and I am confident they will continue to safely deliver results for our business,” said Cathy Slater, senior vice-president, Cellulose Fibers. “I look forward to the energy and expertise I know they both will bring to their new roles.”
Phillips has been in the pulp and paper industry for more than 27 years. He has been an employee of Weyerhaeuser since 2004 and most recently served as production manager at the Columbus cellulose fibers mill. A graduate of Auburn University, Phillips worked for Inland Container and Proctor & Gamble before joining Weyerhaeuser.
