Absentee ballots for the May 12 special election for U.S. Congress, District 1, are now available at the Lowndes County Courthouse.
Absentee voters can cast ballots at the Circuit Clerk’s office during normal business hours — 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday — or from 8 a.m. to noon on May 2 and May 9, according to Circuit Clerk Haley Salazar.
Deadline to vote absentee is noon May 9.
Electors who receive absentee ballots through the mail must return them by mail to the circuit clerk’s office by 5 p.m. on May 11 for their votes to be counted.
