The Starkville Police Department charged a local resident with auto burglary Tuesday.
Officers made contact with 21-year-old Douglas Wayne Erwin, of 1426 Louisville St., Apt. 25D, Tuesday after they were dispatched to 205 Lynn Lane for an auto burglary in progress.
He was taken to SPD, processed and charged with two counts of auto burglary.
Erin was later transported to the Clay County Jail. His bond had not been set as of the end of Tuesday’s business hours.
SPD encourages residents to lock their automobiles and keep items of value out of plain sight.
