Six men, including two who allegedly hindered investigators, face charges in connection with the May 15 murder of James White in Clay County.
Four individuals — Roderick Johnson, 26, of Tupelo, Casey Watkins, 20, of Pheba, Raheem Johnson, 20, of Mantee, and Quentin Naugles, 27, of Houston — were charged with murder, the Clay County Sheriff’s Department announced Friday.
They were each arraigned on $1 million bonds at Clay County Justice Court Friday and remain in custody at the Clay County Jail.
Two other men — Steve Wordlaw, 52, of Starkville, and Jamarcus Ivy, 20, of Maben, were also charged with hindering prosecution.
Their bonds were each set at $5,000.
Deputies made the arrests with assistance from the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Lee County Sheriff’s Department, Tupelo Police Department, Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department and Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Department.
