GREENWOOD — Two people have been charged with the theft of $6,700 worth of hair extensions and other items from a Greenwood beauty shop.
Assistant Greenwood Police Chief Marvin Hammond tells The Greenwood Commonwealth that Karnesha Clay of Tchula and Roderick Davis of Greenwood are each charged with grand larceny. It is unclear if they have attorneys.
Hammond says the two allegedly worked together to give hair extensions to certain customers at the store where they worked and negotiate prices later.
Hammond says store officials tracked the thefts with security cameras.
Hammond says the women allegedly would tell customers which packs of hair to take to the register and would then ring up the expensive hair as $1. Sometimes, he says the women would not charge anything.
