WEST POINT — Water and sewer bills will be increasing for residents in West Point on Oct. 1.
City leaders approved the increases last week.
Residential water inside the city limits will increase from $23 to $30 for the first 2,000 gallons used. Commercial water will increase from $27 to $30. Rates outside the limits and more than 2,000 will remain the same as last year.
Residential sewer rates will increase from $17 for the first 2,000 gallons to $21. Over 2,000 gallons will increase from $3 to $3.10. Commercial rates will remain the same as last year.
City officials say the money is needed repairs and higher operating costs.
