Jamey Bachman of Starkville has been chosen as the recipient of Modern Woodmen of America’s national Fraternalist of the Year Award. Bachman will receive recognition during a regional meeting on July 17, at Union University in Jacksonville, Tennessee. This award is given annually to one Modern Woodmen member who has provided outstanding volunteer service in the community and excellent leadership in his or her local chapter and/or club throughout the past year.
Modern Woodmen regional director William D. Keltner will present Bachman with the recognition award and a $500 donation to the local charity or charities of her choice. Bachman has selected the N. Mississippi Chapter P.E.O.’s Lorene Martin Local Scholarship and Volunteer Starkville to evenly split the donation.
“Jamey is a dedicated, creative and hard-working leader,” says Keltner. “Her efforts impact her community in a remarkable way, and she inspires her fellow members and citizens to get involved.”
Bachman has been a Modern Woodmen chapter board member in Starkville for two years, and she became the president of her chapter board in 2014. Through her role, she has organized several events for her chapter, the local youth service clubs and the community. “Her commitment to fraternalism is clear in everything she does — and she encourages those around her to share that fraternal spirit,” Keltner explains. “She has a talent and passion for improving the community, and her impact will simply continue to grow.”
