NATCHEZ — Campaign signs for the two men running for Adams County sheriff are being vandalized.
Both of the remaining Democratic candidates in the race, Travis Patten and Randy Freeman, tell The Natchez Democrat their outdoor election advertisements have been subject to vandalism.
Perhaps one of the most visually dramatic vandalism occurred early Friday morning, when deputies responded to a report of a campaign sign that had been set ablaze.
The sheriff’s office says when a deputy arrived in the area, he found one of Patten’s signs engulfed in flames.
Patten said someone has been stealing his signs for some time.
Freeman said no one on his campaign team would have done something like the sign burning.
