Affidavits filed by Starkville Police Department allege former Starkville Academy baseball coach Jody Wayne Britt made sexual advances toward two minors and asked them to photograph themselves in a restroom.
Britt, 30, of Madison, was arrested this week and charged with two counts of felony child enticement. His arrest, SPD announced in a release Tuesday, stemmed from alleged incidents that occurred last week.
Documents obtained by The Dispatch allege Britt requested two juveniles “show him (their) ‘boobies’ several times and asked (them) to go to the restroom and take pictures” of themselves. The affidavits go on to state Britt alluded to them performing oral sex on him.
The documents allege the incidents occurred on or around Sept. 8-9.
On Tuesday, SPD Chief Frank Nichols confirmed the investigation involved minors living in Starkville.
Accompanied by his attorney, C. Martin Haug, Britt turned himself in to authorities after arrest warrants were signed against him. He was released from custody after posting a $70,000 bail.
Court officials confirmed Britt is scheduled to appear in Starkville Municipal Court on Nov. 18.
Citing the ongoing nature of the case, Haug declined to comment.
Britt currently works at Ridgeland High School, and WAPT reported the school placed him on administrative leave after his arrest.
