Two adults and one child were found shot to death Monday in Noxubee County.
Wendy Boykin, age unknown, her son Michael Boykin, 12, and her boyfriend Courtney Shields, 21, were found dead at Boykin''s residence on Highway 14 West just outside of Macon. A relative of Boykin who lives nearby called the Noxubee County Sheriff''s Office around 7:30 a.m. to report the killings.
Noxubee Coroner R.L. Calhoun reported the deaths occurred within the past 24 hours. None of the victims were reported missing.
NCSO Chief Deputy Terry Grassaree says the investigation is ongoing. He declined to speculate on possible scenarios and would not say if a weapon was found at the scene.
"We don''t know right now. We''re not ruling anything out," said Grassaree.
The three bodies have been sent to Jackson for autopsies.

How sad? I pray for the family in this great loss. I hope they find out what happened..
What? commented at 1/18/2010 5:54:00 PM:
Um, if they declined to speculate on the scenario, wouldn't say if a weapon was found on the scene, and there hasn't been an autopsy done, then why are you headlining it as a possible murder-suicide?

I am a member of this family and we do not appreciate the release of this information. The investigation isn't even complete, therefore you have no idea what you're talking about. The bodies haven't even been sent to Jackson yet, hence "investigation is ongoing." The paper will be contacted. You have no right to release this information...
LCM commented at 1/18/2010 7:18:00 PM:
Actually, they do have the right to release the information. They are guaranteed freedom of the press under the First Amendment of the US Constitution. Just because the investigation is ongoing does not mean that the newspaper can't report what is public information. It just means the police can't give the newspaper certain details.

I can understand the concern of the family, but I read the article and all the article said that it was a apparent murder-suicide. Don't be mad at the newspapers for reporting what is a tremendous loss to the families involved. My prayers and I'm sure the prayers of many go out to these families during this horrible time.

This is a very sad tragedy.not just one family have been scarred by it,but two.Instead of judgments and speculations or rumors,we need to pray for both families that this tragedy has touched. We pray that God will give the police and FBI the wisdom to solve this, and anyone who has knowledge of this to come forward.prayer is much needed now more than ever.I pray that this tragedy will be resolved soon.We live in such a small town and one tragedy is to much.Mr.Reggie Bullock just did a short film about such tragedies in his film,"A War For Your Soul".Please go to the website,A war for your soul and check it out.

First of all to the Boykin Family, My prayers and heart go out to all of you. When i was told the news my heart fell to the floor. Ya'll have been in my family for so long. Wendy and Michael will truly be missed in our family as well. Now as for the rest who don't know what is going on and wants to put in their two cents and the how can they rule it as that when they don't know this. Keep your mouth shut please! I'm sure all the family realy needs from you now is your prayers more than anything. So don't be asking how do they know whether it is murder-suicide or anythng else. Does it matter? They have lost family members that they can never get back.

Eventually it will all come out in the media anyway. The days of keeping aomething like this out of the newspapers and off TV are long gone since back in the early 1950's. There was time when the Macon newspaper wouldn't print a story like this...not anymore though. Average people have a tendency to speculate and try to second guess what actually happened. Responsible press reports usually work to dispel all the rumors and misinformation in cases like this. In a week or two the murderer or murderers will be sitting in the county jail wringing their hands and waiting to go before a Noxubee jury. The story and the reporting has just begun, and it will probably get worse not better.

I'm sorry to the family. How awful, especially for the young boy whose life was taken. Very very sad.

Noxubee is my hometown and it has never had any thing like this. I know we shouldnt make a fuss about this but something must be done before something like this happens again. The people in office in Noxubee should make sure these kind of people are off the streets. I just cant believe what has transpired. Who ever done this obvious does not have a conscience. I hope who ever done it is found and brought to justice. To the family i pray that God gives you strenghth to make it through this tough time. And for the killer, Lord God have mercy on your soul

My heart is heavy with saddness that a family has to suffer such grief in this manner. May God bless your families and keep you close to him. No one is ever promised tomorrow but no one wants to lose a family member this way. Our prayers are with the families that have suffered such a loss and I do know that the lives lost will be missed.
