Law enforcement agents in Oktibbeha and Noxubee counties are investigating a weekend incident in which one victim was shot in the arm about 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Brett Watson said many details surrounding the situation are unclear at this time. Investigators are “not 100 percent sure” if the shooting occurred in Oktibbeha County, he said, after blood was found in the Skinner Road area of Oktibbeha County and in Noxubee County.
The victim — who authorities have not identified — was found with a non-life-threatening injury in Noxubee County and was transported to a regional hospital for treatment.
“We’re treating the situation as if the shooting occurred (locally), but we have no suspects at this point. We’re going to continue pursuing our leads,” Watson said.
