Severe weather may be heading the Golden Triangle’s way.
Forecasters say that on Tuesday evening a low pressure system will move through the region and with it will come showers and storms, some of them potentially severe.
Ed Tarver, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Jackson, told The Dispatch this morning the Golden Triangle will be under a severe weather threat Tuesday evening from approximately 5 p.m. to midnight.
The area could receive damaging winds, quarter-size hail and strong tornadoes, according to Tarver.
The NWS predicts the area most impacted by the storm may stretch from Meridian north to Columbus and west to Greenwood.
