A Lowndes County man is expected to be charged with murder today after authorities say his son was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the front yard of a Mike Parra Road home this weekend.
Joshua Kyzer, 26, later died from his injuries, according to Marc Miley, chief deputy with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office. Randall Kyzer, 55, is now in LCSO custody, he added.
Miley said deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 600 block of Mike Parra Road on Saturday night. Joshua Kyzer was found laying in a home’s front yard. He later died at the scene.
Joshua Kyzer, of Columbus, was in the Air Force and stationed in Pensacola, Florida, according to Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant. Merchant said he did not know for sure why Kyzer was in Lowndes County at the time of his death.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday in Jackson.
Miley said Randall Kyzer will be formally charged with murder today.
