The Columbus Police Department has arrested a Columbus woman for felony embezzlement.
Whitney Anne Ford, 25, of 748 Waverly Ferry Rd., is accused of embezzling over $17,000 in personal property from an elderly person she worked for as a caretaker. Ford was arrested Sunday, according to a CPD media release.
Municipal Court Judge Rhonda Ellis set Ford’s bond at $25,000, according to the release.
CPD also arrested Love Vell Cunningham, 47, of 1601 Washington Ave., for aggravated assault on Monday shortly after 3 p.m., according to a CPD press release.
Authorities say the incident began when officers responded to a domestic disturbance call at Cunningham’s residence. They found a 25-year-old male who stated Cunningham had assaulted him.
The victim had been cut with a box cutter, according to the release. He was transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle for treatment.
Cunningham’s bond was set at $50,000 by Ellis, according to CPD.
Police say Cunningham is dating the victim’s mother.
