Authorities say The Pony was robbed at gunpoint early this morning, and the masked culprits remain on the loose.
Capt. Ryan Rickert with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office told The Dispatch a call about the crime at the adult entertainment club came in at 1:58 a.m. today.
Rickert said two men came into the Highway 45 North Alternate nightclub brandishing firearms and demanding money. They were both armed.
WTVA, a Tupelo-based TV station, reported that an employee was carrying the business’ garbage outside when the suspects approached and held the employee at gunpoint to gain access to the club.
Rickert said the suspects took an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing.
There were no injuries.
Rickert said the suspects were wearing mostly black clothing. One wore a black mask. The other wore a tan mask.
The sheriff’s office is pulling surveillance video from the nightclub to gather more information.
