The Columbus Police Department arrested a third suspect allegedly involved in the April 30 Sprint Mart shooting.
On Tuesday, officers charged Johnny Hunter, 30, of 915 Fifth St. South, with accessory after the fact of shooting into a motor vehicle, according to a press release.
Hunter is currently on probation from the Mississippi Department of Corrections and was denied bond for violating its terms, the release states.
CPD is also seeking information on another suspect in the shooting.
Demarion Walls, 29, of Columbus, is wanted for allegedly shooting into a motor vehicle at the Sprint Mart on Highway 69.
The shooting occurred about 1:30 a.m. Police responding to calls of shots fired found the gas station and several nearby vehicles had been hit by gunfire. A few hours later, a 23-year-old arrived at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle with a gunshot wound to the ankle.
Authorities said the injury and the incident are connected.
Two other suspects in the shooting — Tyquina “Ty” Kidd and Lonnell Thompson, Jr. — are already in police custody. Both were charged with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of shooting into a motor vehicle and one count of shooting into an occupied building.
Their bonds were set at $175,000 each.
