The Columbus Police Department has arrested another suspect following a shooting at the Sprint Mart on Highway 69 on April 30.
Demarion Walls, 29, of 2117 Kelly Ct., Columbus, was arrested Monday. He was charged with shooting into a business.
Walls is the fourth person arrested and charged in relation to the Sprint Mart shooting, which resulted in at least one injury. The CPD was called to the scene about 1:30 a.m. on April 30. Authorities say they found that vehicles and the Sprint Mart had both been shot at. Later that morning, a 23-year-old was treated at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle for a gunshot wound to the ankle, which authorities say was the result of the shooting.
The CPD has also arrested Tyquina “Ty” Kidd, 19; Lonnell Thompson Jr., 20; and Johnny Hunter, 30, in relation to the incident. Hunter was charged with accessory after the fact of shooting into a motor vehicle. Kidd and Thompson were both charged with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of shooting into a motor vehicle and one count of shooting into an occupied building.
