The Columbus Police Department has named a suspect in a Tuesday night shooting death.
Darrion Walls, 27, is a suspect in the murder of Deanthony Jones, 23, of Columbus.
Officers responded to a call of shots fired outside the Sandfield One Stop on Main Street shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday. They arrived at the scene to find Jones suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to a CPD press release.
Jones was pronounced dead at Baptist Memorial Hospital 1:18 a.m. Wednesday, according to Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant.
Walls was arrested in January 2013 for an armed robbery at Oak Manor Apartments, according to Dispatch archives.
